Why donate?
Today, 1 in 5 children is born with a developmental disability. Many people with developmental disabilities are unable to attend traditional theater. Some are unable to sit quietly throughout the duration of a lengthy performance, and others are overwhelmed and overstimulated by the crowds, structure, and design of a show. Bluelaces gives audience members the opportunity to experience art in a way where they can truly be themselves in a celebratory, nonjudgmental, safe, environment.
We offer a “pay what you can” system to our audiences, since the cost of providing care for individuals with autism and other developmental differences in the U.S. is more expensive than the cost of providing care for neurotypical children. With your help, we can develop our productions, workshops, tours, and more to serve this community! Bluelaces Theater Co. has the ability to change countless lives with the magic of theater, and we want you to be a part of it.
